JMS Point in Time Backup

hi there
I was wondering if anyone knows if it is feasible to take a backup at a point in time of a JMS queue in webMethods, if so is it only achievable from making the queue unavailable while you do so? How would this be achieved?

Thanks.
Jaggie

jaggie,
You can back up the broker(JMS queue is really just a broker queue) at any time but probably should be done when the system is pretty quiet. You can always stop it altogether for the best backup, although most people can’t afford to do that.

You really don’t want to backup it up with a lot of messages in the queue, it would probably cause more problems that it is worth to restore it in that state. Ie messages out of sync, source/targets out of sync. Auditing subsystem, trigger stores, document stores etc all out of sync.
