Have you referred to the manual at all? It tells you everything you need from both webMethods side and SAP side. There is something you need to do on the SAP side. I use both EAI SAP adapter and B2B SAP adapter to receive data from SAP all the time.

If your requirement is very simple. You can connect to the database directly. The dba should give you only read only access and you should know which tables and field etc.
