Just a quick question;
Can we use alternate server setting in the jdbc url for a think oracle client ( ojdbc14) or oracle 10G?
or is it something we can only use with oracle RAC?

I did not get fully, but I assume that you want to add new ‘Driver Alias Definitions’ in IS to use oracle thin client drivers.
If this is what you want then answer is YES, you can do it.
If its something else you want, then please explain more…

What i wanted to know is , can i use the property “alternateserver” in my jdbc adapter if i am using a thin driver with oracle 10G.
Or do i have to have a RAC enabled DB to be able to use the failover/alternate server option in the DB URL?
