Comparing SOA capabilties of webMethods and Websphere

I am SOA consultant working on a big project of a large financial organisation. One of my tasks is to conduct reasearch and compare SOA platforms options. I will appriciate if somebody refers me to interesting material in this respect. I am basiaclly interested in webMethods to Websphere comaparative analysis, but I don’t mind to read stuff about other product such as of IONA or Sonic. I have check the Gartner’s Magical Quadrant for Integration Backbones which tells me that webMethods is better in respect to “Vision”, but poorer in respaect to “Execution Power” - compared to IBM Websphere. Both WS and webMethods are in the leaders quadrant of Gartner. I will be glad to read your opinions and even start a discussion.

Cheers

“SOA platform options” is a pretty broad term. What stage of SOA adoption is your company and what problems are you attempting to solve with an “SOA platform”?

Also, the soon-to-be-released 7.1 versions of Integration Server and Broker will add significantly to the “SOA capabilities” of the webMethods Fabric suite. I would recommend contacting WM for details to complete your evaluation.

Should we start by listing what the SOA-aligned capabilities might be?

I’m not sure that there is any such thing as an “SOA platform.”
