Changing some character in Application

Hi All

we have a requirement where we need to change a specific type of character present in pda,program,subprogram to something else.Initial analysis says there are around 5000+ object which needs to be changed.We want to know if there is any easy way to automate this task instead doing it manually,

Example- Say we need to change all AB to CD.

The System Command SCAN has a REPLACE option, but be careful not to change more than you intended.
