Hello!
How can I should use BasicDocument class from package com.docuverse.dom.? Tomcat says that “class com.docuverse.dom.BasicDocument is an abstract class. It can’t be instantiated.”
I use:
1) tamino 3.1.1.1
2) apache 1.3.22 i tomcat 3.3.1
My jsp page looks like:
…
<%@ page import="java.util." %>
<%@ page import=“org.w3c.dom." %>
<%@ page import="com.docuverse.dom.” %>
<%@ page import=“com.softwareag.tamino.API.dom.*” %>
…
BasicDocument doc = new BasicDocument();
…
Finally I got the following error message from tomcat:
-------------------------------------------
Error: 500
Location: /mydb/changedone.jsp
Internal Servlet Error:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile Note: sun.tools.javac.Main has been deprecated.
C:\jakarta-tomcat-3.3.1\work\DEFAULT\mydb\changedone_1.java:141: class com.docuverse.dom.BasicDocument is an abstract class. It can’t be instantiated.
BasicDocument doc = new BasicDocument();

I must admit that I create .java file and compile in jdk 1.3.0 (and 1.4.0 too) and everything works good. Project was compiled successfully.
Unfortunately, in jsp page I couldn’t create object BasicDocument.
Please help me!
Any help will be very appreciated!
Thanks a lot for support!
Best regards,
Dariusz Baumann
