Software AG is pleased to announce the service pack release of Apama Base FIX Adapter 5.1.2.
This adapter enables Apama to connect to third-party systems via the FIX protocol. All supported FIX-based adapters are compatible with this release.
Highlights of this release:
- Improved performance. The FIX Order Manager has significantly improved throughput by allowing scaling up using multiple contexts. Throughput gains of up to 1000% can be realised by making use of the new capabilities.
- Orders can be submitted from multiple contexts.
- FIX adapter documentation is updated to describe how to take advantage of using multiple contexts.
Performance summary:
The following throughput measurements were recorded in laboratory conditions on an Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 @ 2.90GHz, 32 Cores, 64GB RAM, Linux64 bit machine.
Note: The figures below are for orders submitted from the Order Manager, not for market data received (which typically would be higher).
Apama Base FIX Adapter Order Manager throughput (orders/second)
5.1.0 = 3400 (benchmark)
5.1.1 = 5000 (+47%)
5.1.2 (1 context) = 9650 (+183%)
5.1.2 (4 contexts) = 38000 (+1017%)
All changes and fixes for this version are detailed in the change log included with the release.
