Adapter_config in UNIX root user

Is it necessary to be signed on as root to run the adapter_config in UNIX (specifially IBM AIX)? That is what we have found so far.

Roger:

It is not necessary. But, the user must have write/read right to access the directory where adapters.cfg locates.

If not reconfigured, only the root can run adapter monitor process (e.g. S50adapter40). It can be reconfigured to another user.

Moreover, for some of adapters if they have libJNI.so which needs to link some lib files, they can only be run in normal mode with the configured user.
