Active Transfer Gateway , Active Transfer Server

Hi All,

Currently our organization busy implementing batch request submissions via File.
In our current setup, the ActiveTransfer Server resides behind a firewall and hence does not accept communications from external clients through a DMZ.
And therefore we have configured a dedicated ActiveTransfer Gateway (placed in the DMZ) that permits the internal ActiveTransfer Server to process requests from external clients.

So Question here is :- Do i need to install a component (ActiveTransfer Agent) on the client side for them to make sFTP connections for transferring the files? Or the clients can use typical sFTP Client that facilitates secure file transfers using the SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) like WinSCP, FileZilla?

Kindly share your thoughts.

Thanks

Hi Sanjeev,

You are correct, your need not install ActiveTransfer Agent on the client side to make SFTP connection to transfer files.
You can use any generic SFTP client, e.g WinSCP or FileZilla or command line sftp client to interact with the SFTP port defined in ActiveTransfer Gateway.
