IS not Connected to Broker.

Hi All,

This is quite a familiar topic,

I have configured the broker details in the IS Admin page.

Deleted the dispatch.cnf that already existed in IS and have restarted the IS.

Still the connected shows ‘no’ in the Admin page.

I have also checked if the broker is up using the broker_ping utility which returns, broker is alive.

Still not clear why the IS has not connected to broker.

Is there some logs where i could go and check.

Thanks,
ganesh

Hi Ganesh,

Is there reason to remove dispatch.cnf file?

I believe dispatch.cnf file will store the broker configuration parameters in IS,it should not be deleted

Thanks
Sai

Ganesh,
As sai said, dispatcher.cnf is required. Any reason you deleted it?

Restore it from …/IntegrationServer/config/backup folder and restart the server which should work.

Senthil and Sai thanks for your replies.

I have another doubt here.

When i change the broker configuration to the IS, should i not delete the dispatch.cnf?

Wont IS create a new one when it restarts??

Also should the dispatch.cnf be deleted only when the primary port is changed for IS??

Thanks,
Ganesh

ganesh,

Please find the answer below

Q1)When i change the broker configuration to the IS, should i not delete the dispatch.cnf?

Ans)No,You should not delete. All you have to do is edit the broker and IS will update dispatch.cnf file

Q2)Wont IS create a new one when it restarts??

Ans)I don’t think so,dispatch.cnf is file used by dispatcher to connect with IS

Q3)should the dispatch.cnf be deleted only when the primary port is changed for IS??

Ans)Don’t delete it,Port number doesn’t matter in Broker configuration with IS.
Only broker should be running, just configure wat ever port your broker is setup

Thanks
Sai.

Thanks Sai for your responses

I got this particular doubt of deleting the dispatch.cnf because I read about this in Administering Integration Server guide, where it was mentioned to delete the dispatch.cnf when the primary port has been changed for IS after configuring the broker.

Thanks,
Ganesh
