If the IS clustering functions provide facilities you need then it is definitely the way to go. The facilities provided are covered at the start of this thread–and 8.x may have a new feature or 2 that I’m not aware of.
I wouldn’t introduce an IS cluster just for the scheduler though. As the thread notes, there is administrative overhead associated with it yet it doesn’t provide the level of functionality one typically associates with “cluster.” The main point of this thread is “be aware of what IS clustering does and does not do.”
