Cumulocity IoT create user - parameter newsletter

Hello,

I just found in OpenApi of Cumulocity IoT, a parameter “newsletter” for creating user. It is a boolean for true/false value. For what is this parameter?

Hi Helmut,

There is an ApplicationOption for the UI to show this option as a checkbox for every user: Web SDK documentation

This ApplicationOption then also allows to download a list of users who activated the newsletter to be downloaded in the Administration. Via this endpoint: /user/<tenantId>/users/newsletterEmails.

I think this was a specific function for a certain customer. Nothing will happen if you set it to true. The intention was that the customer could export users from cumulocity, then process the list outside of cumulocity to send some kind of information to users who had ‘newsletter’ true.
