What are you trying to achieve? Please describe it in detail.

According to the description, the “C8Y_CellInfo” functionality must be activated before use. How can I activate „C8Y_CellInfo“, what needs to be done?
I would like to use it to determine the location of the device using the cellular information in case GPS Tracking is not available.

The referenced information is likely from outdated version of the documentation. Newer versions no longer contain this feature because we have stopped actively offering it. In some cases the feature is still available. It is present for the tenant when the cellid microservice is subscribed.

In order to use the functionality the following is necessary

  • The cellid microservice subscribed to the tenant
  • An account with one of the supported geolocation providers (Combain or Google)
  • An API key of the account configured in the tenant
